Set up the email for your contact form

Resend is the service that sends your website’s enquiries to your email. Make a free account with the email you want enquiries sent to, make one key, and send me the key with a one-time link. I do the rest.

  1. Make account

  2. Make a key

  3. Send it to me

Watch the one-minute video

The video has quiet background music and no voice. The steps appear as captions on screen, and the same steps are written out below.

Making a Resend account and a key, then sending it to me with a one-time link. Quiet background music, no voice; the steps are captions on screen.

The steps in writing

This is a text version of the video. It takes about five minutes.

  1. Go to resend.com/signup and make a free account with the email address you want your website’s enquiries sent to. Use the inbox you check every day. The free plan is plenty for a contact form.
  2. Click API Keys, then Create API Key. An API key is like a password that lets your website send email. Call it Website setup.
  3. Choose Full access, then click Add. This lets me finish the setup for you.
  4. Copy the key straight away. It starts with re_ and Resend only shows it once. If you lose it, just make a new one.
  5. Go to onetimesecret.com, paste the key and click Create Link.
  6. Send me the link. It opens once, then disappears. Please don’t send the key by normal email.
