Websites for cafes and restaurants that put the menu and opening hours first

A website for your cafe or restaurant starts at £199 for one page with your menu, opening hours and how to find you, or £399 for up to 5 pages. Prices include VAT, I send a fixed quote before work starts, and you keep your domain and website files. I'm Hamza, based in Sheffield, building for cafes, coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants across the UK. Running a restaurant with evening menus and table booking? See restaurant website design.

What a cafe website needs to answer

Someone standing outside, or deciding where to meet, wants four things within a few seconds.

  • What is on the menu?

Your food and drinks as text that reads well on a phone, with prices, not a file to pinch and zoom.

  • Are you open now?

Opening hours and any closure or bank holiday notice, near the top of the page.

  • Can I eat here?

Dietary and allergen details next to each dish. You confirm them and stay responsible for them.

  • How do I get there or order?

Your address, a map link and a route to book a table or order ahead through a provider you choose.

Visitors switch between food and drinks, read short descriptions and see dietary notes. The demo shows how it feels, using sample dishes from a fictional cafe.

Your real menu, prices and allergen details replace the samples, and we agree how often they change.

Changing your menu and opening hours

Menus and hours change, so the site has to keep up without a new bill each time.

For 4 weeks after launch, small changes to your existing text, photos or layout are free. After that, menu text, price and opening-hours edits count as small updates on the monthly plans: £29.99 for 10 a month, £39.99 for 20, and £49.99 for 30 or more. Each plan includes hosting.

A new page or a redesigned menu is quoted first. If you would rather change things yourself, an editor can be added to your build as a quoted extra.

Booking a table or ordering ahead

Use the service you already have, or pick one that suits you.

The site links to, or embeds, a provider such as OpenTable, ResDiary or Square. You hold the account, the provider's fees are yours, and I do not handle card payments on the site. Your quote says whether your provider can be embedded or only linked.

What a cafe website costs

The build is a one-off price. Home, Menu, About, Find us and Contact is a typical plan for the small site, and a one-page site can hold the essentials.

All prices include VAT. Your fixed quote confirms the final price before any work starts.

Hosting with me is optional, from £19.99 a month. With your own hosting there is no monthly fee to me. Every build includes custom design for phones and computers, wording help, a contact form with spam protection, and page titles and a page map for Google.

What I have built

The two sites I have built so far are GHZ Accountants and Redpen Jobs. The menu on this page and the catering example are fictional concepts, labelled as such.

Questions cafe owners ask

How much does a cafe website cost?

A one-page site with your menu, hours and location starts at £199, and a site of up to 5 pages starts at £399. All prices include VAT. Your fixed quote confirms the final price before any work starts.

Can I change the menu and prices myself?

Not out of the box. For 4 weeks after launch, small changes to your existing text, photos or layout are free. After that, menu text, prices and opening hours count as small updates on the £29.99, £39.99 and £49.99 a month plans. If you would rather edit the site yourself, an editor can be added to your build as a quoted extra.

Can the site show allergen information?

Yes. You tell me what each dish contains and the site shows it next to the dish. You supply and confirm the information, and you stay responsible for it being right and up to date. I do not work out allergens for you.

Can customers order ahead or book a table?

The site links to, or embeds, the booking or ordering service you already use or choose, such as OpenTable, ResDiary or Square. The account and its fees are yours. I do not handle card payments on the site. Whether a provider can be embedded or only linked is confirmed in your quote.

Do you build websites for coffee shops and bakeries too?

Yes. A coffee shop or bakery needs the same things: a menu or product list, opening hours, dietary details and a way to find you. The same prices apply.

Will it work well on a phone?

Yes. Most people look up a cafe on their phone, so every build is laid out for phones first. Before launch I check that text is easy to read, the menu is easy to scroll and every link works.

What do you need from me?

Your menu and prices, opening hours, address, logo and photos you have the right to use. I write the pages with you, and delivery starts once the brief and your content are ready.

How long will it take?

Allow 10 working days for a one-page or small site, counted from when the brief is agreed and your content is ready. A simpler site can be faster, sometimes within a week, depending on the features, whether your content is ready and how quickly you send feedback.

Get a fixed quote before you commit

Tell me about your cafe and what customers need to do. The quote lists the pages, features and total price before you agree to anything. I reply within one working day.
