Privacy
Draft notice: this notice will be finalised before launch. The enquiry, website-check and callback forms send what you enter to us by email.
Who we are
Browser Workbench is responsible for the personal information you send us through this website. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect and why
When you contact us by form, email, phone or WhatsApp, we use your name, contact details and message to reply and to provide the service you ask about. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
A website-check request can also include a public website or profile link, business details and what you want customers to do. A callback request can include your phone number, preferred times and time zone so we can arrange the call.
All three forms (the enquiry form on the contact page, the free website check and the callback request) send what you enter to us by email, and use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you are a person. The enquiry form sends your name, email, message and project choices. The website check sends your name, email, the link or business description you give and your other answers. The callback request sends your name, email, phone number, preferred date and time (UK time) or availability, and any topic you add. This notice will be completed before launch.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work: 6 months. If you become a customer, we keep records for as long as the law requires.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run this website and deliver its messages, such as our hosting and email providers, and Microsoft, which runs the Clarity visit measurement described below. We do not sell your information.
Cookies and visit measurement
We use Microsoft Clarity to see how people use this website, so we can improve it. Clarity records how you move through the pages: clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movement, which pages you view, and your device and browser type. We use this as heatmaps and session replays. We also note when someone opens the prices or the contact form, and when a form is sent.
Clarity uses first-party cookies (_clck, _clsk) to link your page views into one visit, and Microsoft may set its own cookies (such as MUID and CLID). These hold a pseudonymous ID, not your name. Microsoft's use of this data is covered by the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Clarity sets none if cookies are turned off.
The private review link uses an access cookie so you can open the preview and leave notes.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. If you are unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
