Web design and SEO, built into the site from the first page

Web design and SEO go together when the search setup is done while the site is built. Every build from £199 includes page titles and descriptions, clear page headings and a map of your pages for Google. A business site, from £699, also matches your services to the words people search for and sets up Google’s free tool that shows how people find you. This helps Google understand your pages. It cannot promise a position in the results, and ongoing SEO is separate.

One-page site £199, small site £399, business site from £699. All prices include VAT.

The SEO that is part of the build

This is the exact setup, taken from the price list.

  • Page titles and descriptions

Each page gets its own title and description, so a search result says what the page is.

  • Clear page headings

One main heading per page and sensible sub-headings, so people and search engines can follow it.

  • A map of your pages for Google

A sitemap lists your pages so Google can find them.

  • In a business site, more

On-page and technical SEO setup: matching your services to the words people search for; a map of your pages for Google, and Google’s free tool that shows how people find you set up; relevant details about your business that search engines can read.

Good setup helps Google understand the site. It does not buy a position.

Starting with the words people search for

Search setup begins with the words, not with code.

On a business site, I match your services to the words your customers use. That shapes the page titles, the headings and which services get their own page. A plumber and a joiner in the same town need different pages, even if their sites look alike.

Pages should be useful to a person first. I do not add near-identical pages for every town or service just to catch searches. A page earns its place when it says something true and different.

What is not included

No promise of a ranking, a page-one result or a number of visitors. Nobody outside Google can promise those, and anyone who does should be asked how.

Ongoing SEO, such as regular content, link building and monthly reports, is a separate service. A Google Business Profile is a separate listing that you own; I can set it up for £49, and the Google Business Profile guide explains what it takes.

What it costs

There is no separate SEO fee for the setup above. It is part of the build price.

Questions about web design and SEO

Is SEO included in your web design?

Yes, the setup is. Every build includes page titles and descriptions, clear page headings, a map of your pages for Google. A business site also matches your services to the words people search for and sets up Google’s free tool that shows how people find you.

Will my website be on the first page of Google?

I cannot promise that, and nobody honest can. The setup helps Google understand your site. Where you appear depends on many things outside the site, including your competitors.

What is the difference between the packages for SEO?

One-page and small sites get the core setup. The business site, from £699, adds service-page planning, Google’s free search tool and details about your business that search engines can read.

Do you offer monthly SEO?

Not as part of the build. Ongoing SEO is a separate service, so ask if you want it and I will say what I can offer.

Do I need a Google Business Profile as well?

It can help local customers find you, but Google only allows one if you meet customers in person. I can set it up for £49. The guide covers who is eligible.

Can you improve the SEO of my existing site?

The free website check looks at your design, content, usability, speed and security basics and gives up to three practical improvements. Anything beyond that is quoted separately.
