Choose the main customer action
Finish this sentence: “A customer comes to my website because they need to…” Use something concrete: request a quote, book an appointment, compare your services or find your opening hours.
Choose one main action for the site. Other routes can still be available. A quote request might be the main button, with a phone number and service information nearby.
Give each page a job
List the questions someone needs answered before contacting you: do you offer the service, cover their area, suit their budget and have relevant experience?
Keep closely related answers together. Separate a service when it needs its own explanation, examples or enquiry route. Extra pages should earn their place.
| Possible starting point | What it can cover |
|---|---|
| One page · from £199 | One clear offer, services summary, genuine work or credentials, common questions and contact details on one page. |
| Up to 5 pages · from £399 | For example: Home, Services, Work, About and Contact. The right mix depends on your business. |
| Up to 8 pages · from £699 | Room for separate service pages and more detailed information, where customers need it. |
These are example page plans, not fixed menus. Your written quote confirms the page list, required policy pages, features and total price.
Match the feature to the task
A standard contact form can collect an enquiry. A booking system also needs decisions about availability, cancellations, reminders and any payment. A quote form needs the details you use to price a job.
Tell me which tools you already use. We can check whether the website should connect to them before building another system.
Bookings, editors, uploads and other custom features are scoped separately. Paid services can have their own ongoing fees. I agree these with you in the quote.
Agree what a useful result looks like
For enquiries, start by checking that submissions reach the right inbox. If visit measurement is included or added to your build, agree which customer actions to record and any consent controls needed.
Keep a button click, a submitted enquiry, a suitable lead and a paying customer separate. A click on a phone number does not tell us whether the call connected. A booking request does not tell us whether the appointment happened.
Use your own enquiry or booking records alongside website reports. Search setup helps search engines understand your pages; it cannot promise a position in Google or a number of sales.
