Restaurant website design with a menu people can read on a phone

Restaurant website design starts at £199 for one page with your menu, opening hours and a booking button, or £399 for up to 5 pages. The menu is written into the page, not left as a PDF, with allergen notes you supply beside each dish. Prices include VAT, the quote is fixed before work starts, and you keep your domain and files. I'm Hamza, based in Sheffield, building for restaurants, gastropubs and bistros across the UK.

One-page site £199, small site £399, business site from £699. All prices include VAT.

What a diner checks before choosing you

Most people compare two or three places on their phone, then pick one in a minute.

  • The menu and prices

In text, on the page. Not a download.

  • Are you open, and when?

Opening hours near the top, with any bank holiday or closure notice.

  • Can I book?

A booking button that opens your table booking tool on the right date.

  • Can I eat here?

Dietary and allergen details beside each dish, supplied and confirmed by you.

  • Can I order in?

A link to the delivery or takeaway service you already use, if you offer one.

A PDF menu has to be downloaded, pinched and zoomed. A page menu loads with the site.

Each menu sits as text, with the dish name, a short description, the price and its dietary and allergen notes. Visitors can switch between lunch, dinner, drinks and the set menu, and your seasonal changes are edits to text, not a new file.

The demo uses sample dishes from a fictional cafe. Your own dishes, prices and notes replace them.

The page should answer “what is on, and can I eat it?” in ten seconds.

Allergen information

You tell me what each dish contains, and the site shows it next to the dish. You supply and confirm the information, and you stay responsible for it being right and up to date. I do not work out allergens for you.

The Food Standards Agency publishes guidance for food businesses on providing allergen information, on GOV.UK: "Allergen guidance for food businesses". Read it for what applies to your kitchen. This page does not summarise it.

Table booking, delivery and enquiries

The site links to, or embeds, the booking provider you use or choose, such as OpenTable, ResDiary or Square. Your quote says whether your provider can be embedded or only linked. The account and its fees are yours, and I do not take payments on the site.

For delivery or takeaway, the site links to the service you already use. For groups, private dining or event menus, a short enquiry form asks for the date, the number of guests and any dietary needs, and you reply with a quote.

Hosting with me is optional, from £19.99 a month. With your own hosting there is no monthly fee to me.

A one-page site holds the menu, hours and booking link. The 5-page site adds pages such as Menus, Private dining and Find us. The monthly plans (£29.99, £39.99 and £49.99) include hosting and 10, 20 or 30+ small updates a month. Menu text, prices and opening-hours edits count as small updates.

Not included: domain registration and renewal, email mailboxes, paid services from other companies, and extra pages and features, which are quoted first.

What to prepare

  • Menus

Every menu you want shown, in a document you can send, with prices.

  • Allergen details

For each dish, confirmed by whoever runs the kitchen.

  • Opening hours

Including bank holidays and last orders.

  • Booking and delivery links

The addresses for each service you use.

  • Photos

Of the room and the food, taken or licensed by you.

  • Group and event offer

Capacity, minimum spend and set menus, if you take them.

Questions restaurant owners ask

How much does restaurant website design cost?

£199 for one page, £399 for up to 5 pages, and £699 for up to 8 pages. All prices include VAT. The quote is fixed before work starts.

Why not just upload a PDF menu?

A page menu is easier to read on a phone, loads with the site and can be updated by changing text. You can still offer a printable version alongside it if you want one.

Can the site change the menu for the season?

Yes. Menu text and prices are small updates, free for 4 weeks after launch and included in the monthly plans after that.

Does the site work with OpenTable or ResDiary?

It links to or embeds your booking page, depending on what the provider allows. Your quote says which for your provider.

Can I take takeaway orders on the site?

The site links to the delivery or ordering service you already use. I do not build ordering or payment systems on the site.

Is this different from your cafe page?

The build and prices are the same. The cafe page is about daytime menus and quick visits. This one is about evening menus, table booking, groups and events.

Get a fixed quote before you commit

Tell me about the restaurant, the menus you run and how guests book. The quote lists the pages, features and total price before you agree to anything. I reply within one working day.
