Your quick checklist
What happens between paying for setup and your first ad enquiry?
Use this to keep your place while reading. Ticking a box does not send or change anything.
Words explained
- Conversion
- An action you want, such as a form sent or a phone tap
- Negative keyword
- A search term you tell Google not to show your ads for
- Daily budget
- The average amount you are happy to spend per day
Before you start
I run Google and Meta ads for my own business, so I know how the accounts and the settings fit together.
Are Google Ads worth it?
It depends on what one new customer is worth to you and how many enquiries turn into work. A business that earns a lot from one job is in a different position from one selling a low-priced item.
I will not quote results from other businesses, because they would not tell you what happens in your town. What I can do is make sure you can see what the ads produce. That is why the setup needs Tracking setup first. Google describes conversion tracking as something that "analyzes specific actions that users take on your website". Without it, you see clicks and spend but not whether anyone got in touch.
How much does it cost to have your business advertised on Google?
You decide. Google lets you "set and edit your average daily budget at any time", so you can start small and raise or lower it later. You enter your payment details in your own Google Ads account, and Google charges you for the ads. None of that spend passes through me.
I will not give you an average cost, because it varies by trade, area and how many other businesses want the same searches. We agree a daily budget before the campaign starts, and the 7-day check shows what the money bought.

What I set up
- Your Google Ads account, created or checked, in your name with your payment card.
- One campaign with the area, budget and schedule we agree. Google can target countries, regions, cities, postcodes or a radius around a place, with a minimum radius of 1 km.
- Search terms chosen for the work you want, with negative keywords added. Negative keywords "let you exclude search terms from your campaigns", which keeps the ads away from searches you do not want.
- Ads written in plain words, using your own photos where the ad type uses them.
- A check after 7 days, with changes made from what the numbers show.
What is not included
I do not manage the campaign month to month. After the 7-day check the account is yours to run, and I can tell you what I would look at.
I can only use photos you already have. I do not promise a number of enquiries, or a position on Google.
What you need
Tracking setup comes first, at £79. It puts enquiry tracking on your site and connects Google Ads conversion tracking, so the campaign can be judged on real enquiries. You also need a payment card for Google and a website that explains the service you are advertising.
How I can help
I do the account, the campaign, the search terms and the ads, then look at the first week with you. The price is £149 once for Google. Meta ads are a separate £149, covered on the Facebook and Instagram ads setup page.
Questions about Google Ads
Who owns the Google Ads account?
You do. I create it in your name or check the one you have, and you add your own payment card.
Can I get help with Google Ads without a long contract?
Yes. The setup is a one-off fee with nothing to cancel.
