Eligibility, ownership and verification have different jobs

1.Check eligibility

Discuss whether customers visit you or you travel to them. Online-only businesses generally do not qualify.

2.Use your account

The profile belongs to you. Management access can be added where needed.

3.Add accurate details

Confirm the category, services, hours, contact details, website and photos.

4.Follow Google's checks

Google chooses the verification method and decides whether the profile is verified.

The profile itself is free. Paid help covers the agreed setup work; Google controls verification.

Your quick checklist

What must be agreed before my business profile can be set up and verified?

Use this to keep your place while reading. Ticking a box does not send or change anything.

Words explained
Business Profile
The business listing that can appear on Google Search and Maps.
Verification
Google's checks before a profile can be fully managed. Google decides which steps are available.
Owner
The person who keeps control of the profile through their own account.

Before you start

What I set up

I check the business details with you, then help with:

  • Your business category, services and description.
  • Opening hours, contact details and your website link.
  • Photos that show your business and the work you do.
  • The steps Google offers to verify the profile.

If you already have a profile, send me its link and explain what needs attention. We agree the work before I change anything.

The profile belongs to you

You keep ownership through your own Google account. Where I need management access, you can add me to the profile. You keep access when the setup is finished.

Google provides the Business Profile itself free of charge. My setup fee is £49 one-off, including VAT. Google Business Profile setup is already included in the Up to 5 pages and Business monthly website plans, so you do not pay for it again as an extra.

What to send me

Send your business name, the services you offer, your contact details, opening hours and any existing profile link. Tell me whether customers visit your premises or you travel to them. We check which business information should appear on the profile before setting it up.

Separate the listing from the setup help

The Google profile

Google provides the business listing free.

Help setting it up

The agreed setup work is a separate service. Check your plan's existing inclusions.

Questions about the setup

Can every business have a profile?

Google generally requires a business to meet customers in person, either at its premises or through its services. We check eligibility first. Online-only businesses generally do not qualify.

Can you complete verification for me?

I can help you prepare and follow the available steps. Google chooses the verification method, and some steps need the business owner to take part. Google decides whether the profile is verified.

Does setup guarantee a place at the top of Maps?

No position is guaranteed. The setup gives Google and customers accurate information about your business. Local competition and other factors also affect where it appears.
