Find what is slowing your website down

A slow first page, a delayed button or a layout that moves while you read can make a website harder to use. I check loading, responsiveness and layout stability when building websites, and can review an existing site before quoting for improvements. The useful question is which part is causing trouble for your visitors and what can be changed on your platform.

Three areas to investigate. This diagram contains no measured website scores.

Bring a page and a problem

Send the page address and say what you notice: a large photo taking time to appear, a menu that reacts late, or a booking tool moving the page. Include the device or browser if you know it. A concrete example helps separate the symptom from a general wish for a higher score.

The free website check can flag likely heavy assets and visible loading or layout issues, alongside design and security basics. Any paid work follows an agreed scope rather than an automatic package of changes.

Check the causes before changing the design

  • Images and other media

Review whether the website sends more image or video data than the page needs. The aim is a suitable asset for its actual use, while preserving the photos and composition you approved.

  • Scripts and embedded tools

Look at the work performed by menus, animations, booking embeds and other integrations. A useful customer feature still needs to work; removing it solely to improve a score may solve the wrong problem.

  • Movement and responsiveness

Check whether content shifts as it loads and whether controls respond during normal use. A page can appear quickly and still be frustrating when someone tries to interact with it.

Compare the affected page after the fix

I agree which pages and behaviour need attention, then check the affected experience again after the changes. Existing hosting, plugins, outside services and the access available can limit what is possible.

A test result depends on its conditions. I do not promise a particular speed score, ranking or increase in enquiries. The outcome should describe the change made and the checks performed, with any remaining limits clear.

Questions about website performance

Can you guarantee a perfect speed score?

No. Scores vary with the page, device, connection and testing conditions. The scope should focus on useful improvements and the checks that can demonstrate them.

Will you need to rebuild my website?

Not necessarily. I review the current platform and the cause of the problem first. If a rebuild is the practical option, it is explained and quoted rather than assumed.

Does a faster page guarantee more enquiries?

No. A more usable page can remove friction, but enquiries also depend on the service, audience and offer. Tracking and actual messages need separate evidence.
