A monthly plan includes the website build, hosting and small text and photo updates during the website-plan period. A one-time build includes 4 weeks of launch aftercare; its optional hosting-only plan does not include ongoing content edits.
The totals below use $29/month managed hosting for the one-time option. Both exclude domain registration, email mailboxes, paid external services, new features and any applicable tax. Those are confirmed in your written quote.

How the calculation works.
For the five-page site, the monthly plan is $129 × 12 = $1,548 in the first year. Paying once with managed hosting is $999 + ($29 × 12) = $1,347.
Monthly plans drop to $29/month for hosting only after 24 paid months. The 36-month figures therefore use 24 months at the website-plan price, followed by 12 months of hosting only. Ongoing content edits are separate after the reduction.
What if you leave earlier?
The initial monthly commitment is 12 months. After that, you can give 30 days’ notice, take your website files and arrange hosting elsewhere. The table does not mean you have to stay for two or three years.
Pay-once customers can arrange their own hosting from the start. In that case, compare the build price plus the actual cost and support offered by your chosen provider.

Monthly can suit you when spreading payments and having small updates handled matters more than the lowest total build-and-hosting cost. Paying once can suit you when you can fund the build and want to choose how the site is hosted afterward.
